Its 2 AM and we both were not able to sleep. My husband asked me what worst can happen? I asked worst? He replied yes what will be the worst case? I told we may lose around 1L bucks.
It’s a big amount for people like us; we don’t go for luxurious travels. We think about our every penny spent on our travel. So this was the time when we were into the planning of our first International trip.
We were going to a country where “Visa on Arrival” facility was available for the Indian citizens. But the documents and bank details were to be carried along. So being a first time international travel we had many doubts in our minds. And one doubt which was really making us sleepless was what if we will be denied our visa?
So here I share my story with you so you don’t have to face any sleepless nights like us.
What is Visa on Arrival?
There are many wonderful countries in the world which offer visa on arrival for Indians for around 1 month. Visa on Arrival comes with few conditions for example that the tourist must carry return or onward ticket. Or Passport must be valid for 6 months, tourist mush show sufficient funds to cover the stay in that country.
Although Visa requirements are different for different countries and also it keep on changing. There can never be one single checklist for visa requirements for all destinations.
But this blog will be sufficient for planning your trip safely to Visa on Arrival destinations.
Have you already decided on destination?
The first step will be to choose your destination, Thailand, Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius and many other countries offer Visa on Arrival. So first make sure to check out whether your chosen destination country provides Visa on Arrival or not.
From where you will get right and updated information?
Once your destination country is decided you have to research on its visa requirements. This is a crucial step and there will be several pages on web but the right and updated information will only be provided on government website of that country. Probably website related with ministry of foreign affairs or tourism. So you must go through all the information on official governement sites only.
Mind your bookings
Usually, visa process does not take more than 10 minutes. You reach the destination and collect your lugguage and stand in queue for the visa process and woah it is just done in few minutes.
But make sure if you are visiting a destination on season, probably many others will be there too like you. So you may have to stand in queue longer than you expected. So your cab or may be ferry booking should be done keeping this in mind.
It should be noted that mosty you get stamped in few minutes but one query from officer’s end can eat your hours. So please keep a gap for your next transport booking.
If it is your first international travel it becomes obvious that you will feel little nervous. But don’t worry it is very smooth process and mostly countries allow visa on arrival to promote tourism in their country. So it is obvious that they will not harrass their visitors unnecessary. So you just need to relax about your visa process.
Hopefully, above tips will make you bit relaxed about your first international travel. Also, please let me know in the comment section if you some kind of memory or experience related to your first international travel.
